Training

The Training Unit, directed by Lieutenant Kelley Edwards, is responsible for in-service training and continuing education for all of the department's employees. In the spirit of cooperation among local agencies, the Hall County Sheriff's Office also opens many classes to officers from other law enforcement agencies and makes its range facilities available to them as well. Outside agencies requesting to participate in HCSO training courses should submit a training request form (download below).
Under the rules of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council, certified peace officers are required to complete a minimum of 20 training hours annually.
