The general municipal runoff election for the City of Gainesville's Ward 3 City Council seat will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1.
"Because none of the four candidates in the Nov. 3 election garnered a majority vote, the two highest candidates will compete in a runoff tomorrow," said Charlotte Sosebee, Hall County Elections Director.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Sosebee said all registered City of Gainesville voters will be eligible to vote in Tuesday's election since voting is citywide and is not restricted to each individual ward.
"Any voter unsure of their polling location should contact our office for information," Sosebee said. "Also, any voter who was registered to vote in the City of Gainesville by the voter registration deadline of Oct. 5 is eligible to vote in the runoff, regardless of whether or not they voted on Nov. 3."
She said voters will need to go to the same precinct where they voted in the Nov. 3 election to cast a ballot in the runoff. On Dec. 1, citizens will only be able to vote at their designated precinct, not at the Hall County Government Center.
