Hall Co. Animal Shelter’s largest donation to date to outfit transport trailer

The Hall County Animal Shelter received its largest donation to date—nearly $20,000-- which will be used to outfit the shelter’s transport trailer, giving them more visibility and functionality at off-site adoption events.

The shelter received the $19,650 check as a beneficiary of this year’s Harvest Balloon Festival. The annual event includes craft vendors, balloon rides, games for kids and various other fair-type activities and was held Oct. 15 at Sterling on the Lake subdivision in Flowery Branch.

“We are incredibly humbled by this donation,” said Cindy Langman, program coordinator for the Hall County Animal Shelter. “To be selected as a beneficiary of this event means the world to us, and we’re looking forward to putting these funds to use as we find forever homes for the animals that are brought to our doors.”

Hall County Animal Shelter officials have found great success in recent years by bringing animals to potential pet owners at community events rather than waiting for them to visit their facility.

“A large portion of the proceeds will go toward outfitting our mobile adoption unit, so that the community can easily identify our transport trailer, bringing greater awareness to our overall mission and presence,” said Langman.

She said the shelter’s mobile adoption unit will be decorated with animal graphics and the shelter’s logo. The trailer will also be outfitted with kennels for animals to ride in and be viewed by visitors.

“We would like to thank Sterling on the Lake for this generous donation and for the support of the people who attended this year’s Harvest Balloon Festival. Because of you, the opportunities for our animals to find loving homes will drastically increase,” said Langman.

The Hall County Animal Shelter is located at 1688 Barber Road in Gainesville and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone seeking additional information is asked to contact the shelter at 678-450-1587 or visit their webpage at animalshelter.hallcounty.org.
