Hubert Stephens Road will be closing April 30 in preparation for the replacement of Hubert Stephens Road Bridge in north Hall County.
"The new bridge will replace the current structure, which needs to be replaced due to its age according to a recent inspection by the Georgia Department of Transportation," said Hall County Engineer III Denise Farr.
Farr said traffic will be rerouted to Wade Whelchel and Ben Parks roads as well as Highway 283 (Mount Vernon Road) for the duration of the closure.
Officials anticipate the road to remain closed through the spring and summer months before reopening later this year ahead of the 2018-2019 school year.
