Randy Knighton is the County Administrator for Hall County Government. The Board of Commissioners appointed Randy in July 2011 as the chief executive officer, who directly supervises all offices and departments for which the board is responsible. He is charged with the implementation of policy, ordinances, resolutions and orders of the board; preparation of the annual budget; and to act as the board's liaison to departments and elected officials, as necessary.
Randy served as Hall County's Senior Planner for four years and then Planning Director for five years before accepting his current position. He previously worked for the Orange County Planning Department (Orlando, Florida), the City of Orlando Planning Department (Orlando, Florida), and the Osceola County Planning Department (Kissimmee, Florida). Randy earned Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degrees from the University of Central Florida, and a Master of Divinity from Emory University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the American Planning Association (APA).
Randy and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Randy II and Ryan.
