The Hall County Juvenile Court collected $18,174 in restitution owed to victims of juvenile crime last year, over $1,000 more than in 2011.
Hall County Juvenile Court Judge Cliff Jolliff said that money is directly distributed to victims and should be a point of pride for the county. The county's juvenile probation officers are responsible for ensuring this money is paid by offenders according to the terms of court orders.
''Considering the kind of economy we have had and the fact that our teenagers are now competing with adults for jobs in the service sector, I am very proud of our probation staff,'' said Jolliff.
The Hall County Juvenile Court System has distributed more than $380,000 in restitution to victims since 1993.
