Eden hires chief deputy tax commissioner
8/28/2013

Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden has appointed Randall (Randy) H. Williams as chief deputy tax commissioner for Hall County. Williams was previously the chief deputy tax commissioner in Rockdale County, a position he held for eight years before joining the Hall County Tax Commissioner's Office.

''The fact that Randy has prior experience, is well-known in the industry and has many friends in local governments across Georgia will be an extreme benefit to Hall County Government and Hall County taxpayers,'' said Eden.

Williams' duties include serving as operations manager for the Hall County Tax Commissioner, and he is also deputized by the Tax Commissioner under Georgia law to assume authority in Eden's absence. Among his many other duties, Williams will also oversee management of the Motor Vehicle and Property Tax Division, assuring that all ad valorem tax is collected accurately and promptly.

''I'm excited to be a part of a team that's focused on bringing greater efficiency to the Hall County Tax Commissioner's Office and better customer service to the citizens of Hall County,'' Williams said. ''Under the new administration, this office has made great strides in service, technology and accountability, and I look forward to continuing and capitalizing on those efforts.''

Prior to serving as chief deputy tax commissioner in Rockdale County, Williams founded and owned a software development company specializing in software for property tax/digest and accounting/financial applications for small to mid-size local governments.

Williams was appointed to his position effective Aug 19. His hiring follows the beginning of Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden's term in office, which began on Jan. 1. Eden's focus since taking office has been customer service initiatives and property tax collections.

As a reminder to citizens, the Hall County Tax Commissioner's Office has relocated from its former location in the Joint Administration Building in downtown Gainesville to the first floor of the Hall County Government Center, located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
