The Hall County Sheriff is elected at-large and has jurisdiction over the entire county. The Sheriff’s Office operates the Hall County Detention Center, which houses over 500 inmates. Additionally, Sheriff’s Office personnel secure the functions of five courts, patrol nearly 1,300 miles of roadway, conduct criminal investigations. The Sheriff’s Office also provides staff for several specialized groups — the M.A.N.S. Drug Task Force, the S.W.A.T. Team, the Gang Task Force, a Dive-Rescue Team, and the Red Dog Team. The Sheriff’s Office also operates the Hall County A.D.V.A.N.C.E. program, which provides drug abuse resistance education to school children.
