The Hall County Sheriff's Office participates in a cooperative effort with the Hall County Emergency Management Search Team and the Georgia Search and Rescue Council to comprise the Hall County Search Team. As such, the Hall County Sheriff's Office is the first agency of its kind to have a dedicated search team in the state of Georgia. They respond to any missing persons incident and coordinate the efforts of other agencies and teams.
Consisting of six members, the team was established in April 2010 in response to an increase in lost and missing persons incidents. This unit focuses on the recovery of any lost or missing person, but especially those who may be considered "at-risk" such as missing youths, Alzheimer's patients, and possible crime victims. Their goal in every incident is to not only ensure people return safely, but also to significantly reduce the amount of time a person spends "lost" through the collection and analysis of data from every incident.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Emergency Management Search Team, please visit their website at www.hallcountysar.org.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office has partnered with the Pilot Club of Gainesville to bring Project Lifesaver to Hall County. Project Lifesaver International (PLI) helps provide rapid response to save lives and reduce potential for serious injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer's, Autism, Down Syndrome, dementia, and other related disorders. PLI provides equipment, training, certification, and support to law enforcement, public safety organizations, and community groups which operate the Project Lifesaver program in their communities. PLI has over 1,100 participating agencies across the U.S., Canada, and Australia and has performed over 2,170 searches in the last 10 years with a 100% success rate.

If you have a family member or know someone who suffers from a mentally debilitating illness which causes them to become lost or "walk away," please visit Project Lifesaver's website at www.projectlifesaver.org.
