Road Closings & Construction  As
our county's population grows we are diligently working to improve
our road system. To make your travel more convenient in Hall County
we have provided the following list of road closings and construction

 DOT crews working on Thompson Bridge (Ga. 60) through next week 6/24/2009 8:00am - 3:00pm daily through June 26 on the northbound lanes and the same hours June 29 - July 3 on the southbound lanes. One lane will be closed at a time on the four-lane bridge during the driving surface repairs. ROAD CLOSURE - Myrtle Street 6/15/2009 Myrtle Street, in New Holland, will be closed to thru traffic between Barns Street and Branch Street beginning Thursday, June 18 at 8:00 a.m. thru Friday, June 19 at 3:00 p.m. For more information, contact Mike Bray, Hall County Road Maintenance, at (770) 531-6825. ROAD CLOSURE - Race Street 5/27/2009 Race Street WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC BETWEEN 511 Race Street AND College Avenue BEGINNING Friday, May 29, 2009 TO COMPLETE SEWER IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AREA. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY AND WATCH FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AND EQUIPMENT IN THE AREA. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL CITY OF GAINESVILLE PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT 770-538-2407. ROAD CLOSURE - Brown Street 5/22/2009 Construction is scheduled to start on Brown Street, June 1, 2009. The road will be closed in two phases starting with the first phase located between Old Athens Road and Eugene Drive. As soon as the first phase of construction is complete, the barricade will then be relocated between Eugene Drive and Garden Drive.
