The Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization (GHMPO) is the intergovernmental transportation planning agency for Hall County as well as a portion of western Jackson County. GHMPO follows the Gainesville-Hall Regional Transportation Plan, which is the federally mandated long range transportation plan for the Gainesville urbanized area as well as portions of the Atlanta urbanized area as identified in the 2010 U.S. Census. The GHMPO planning area includes the jurisdictions of Gainesville, Oakwood, Flowery Branch, Braselton, unincorporated Hall County, and the western portion of unincorporated Jackson County.
An important part of this planning process is the public's participation in developing long-term goals and setting short term priorities for Hall County's transportation system. We invite you to visit our website to review the information, plans and projects, and provide us with your thoughts and feedback regarding the transportation issues facing our area.
